The statue of Zoltán Ambrus

The statue of Zoltán Ambrus (1861-1932) was erected in his one time holiday home. The statue is Barna Buza's work. Zoltán Ambrus is known as one of the most important literary personages of his time. He was a distinguished writer, author of 16 volumes of novels and short stories, literary editor, major translator of French literature and director of the Hungarian National Theatre. He is considered the father of Hungarian theatre criticism. Ambrus Zoltán's life and work is introduced in the "Literature itinerary" program by the director of Gödöllő Town Museum.
