Royal Guards' Barracks

The building is an important baroque relic of Gödöllő: The Royal Guards' Barracks dates back to the 18th centiury. A building with a wooden veranda facing the Royal Palace, it used to be the home of the Chief of the Animal Stock, the Chief Officer of the Guards and the Bursar.  During the Royal period the Chief officer of the Guards and the Queen's Secretarial Office were moved here. After 1920 the building became the barracks of the guards of the Hungarian governor.
